Charles River Valley sewerage system is completed.

The system serves cities and towns South of the Charles River, including Waltham, Newton, Watertown, Brookline, Brighton, and the Fenway. It discharges into the Main Drainage system and the Calf Pasture pumping station on Columbia Point.
